our story

Tana and Dylan started out as just friends, before eventually becoming best friends. It took almost 3 years of friendship before Tana finally got the nerve to admit her admiration to Dylan, not knowing if he would feel the same. But luckily, he did! After two years of dating, we got married and couldn't be happier together!

TYING THE KNOT

We eloped! Well... We tried to elope. Our amazing family and friends were determined to be there to stand by our sides. So, we had a small group fly out to Las Vegas with us to get married in Red Rock Canyon. The ceremony was perfect... There wasn’t a dry eye in attendance!

better together

Together, we’re capable of anything. Our life is full of happiness, adventure, and shared dreams. As entrepreneurs, we run our businesses and work for ourselves. We’re fortunate to have a lot of freedom and flexibility with our schedules and daily lives, including a work-from-home lifestyle. Our highest priority is family and showing up for one another. We’re the type of people who don't miss a grandparent’s birthday, our niece’s dance recital, or any event in our son’s life. We have a traditional life with work, school, kids sports, and activities, and do our best to fill spare moments sharing experiences and making memories.

WHERE WE CALL HOME

Both born and raised in Eastern Kentucky, there’s no place we’d rather raise our family. Today, we live in Laurel County, which is where Tana grew up. Dylan is from Bell County, Kentucky just an hour away. What’s great about our town is that it’s small enough that you know everyone here and there’s very little traffic. When we need an escape, we’re only a little over an hour from bigger cities like Lexington, Kentucky and Knoxville, Tennessee.

what We Love About Where We Live

HOME SWEET HOME

Our happy place is 3 bedrooms + 2 baths on a 7 acre farm

When we found a house with 7 acres of private land we could roam, we jumped on the opportunity! With a little indoor renovation to suit our modern-rustic taste, we made the house our home. With so much of our family living less than 15 minutes away, it’s practically perfect.

PLAY HOUSE

When I was a little girl, my Dad and I fixed up our old shed and turned it into a playhouse for my sister and me. “The playhouse” is part of so many of my wonderful childhood memories. So, when my parents decided to move to a new house, I acquired “the playhouse” and gave it a sprucing up for our family to continue making those memories in.

our traditions

We have a lot of special routines and traditions in our family, especially around the holidays. Growing up, our families made holidays extra special for us, so we try to do the same! Every holiday is celebrated by decorating the house, gathering the whole family together for a home-cooked meal, enjoying special treats, creating fun crafts, reading special books, and watching seasonal movies.

Flip through the pictures below for a look at some of our traditions!

what we do for fun

We fill our time making memories and consider ourselves a very active family. Sure, we enjoy a restful weekend at home now and then, but we enjoy being on the move, especially when the sun is shining.

Here are some of the things we regularly enjoy as a family:

our support system

When it comes to the people we surround ourselves with, we are blessed with the very best! We have a caring, close-knit, supportive family and amazing friends.

Fortunately, we live within a 10-minute drive of the majority of our family members. Being in such proximity allows us to spend a lot of time together, including regular cousin play dates, celebrating all birthdays and holidays with a family shin-dig, and showing up to cheer each other on at sporting events and activities. Not to mention, we always have a handful of eager babysitters to choose from!

Our loved ones are very excited for us to grow our family. We have discussed our adoption plans with them and have their complete and total support. Just as they do for Eli, we know "our people" will unconditionally love and show up for Baby each and every day.
